Herceg Novi is a city settlement in the municipality of Herceg Novi, in Montenegro. According to the 2011 census, there were 11,059 inhabitants. Herceg Novi is a coastal town located at the entrance to Boka Kotor and at the foot of the Orjen mountain. Herceg Novi is the center of the municipality of the same name, which stretches from the Debeli Brijeg border crossing to the narrowest part of Boka Kotorska (strait Veriga – 300 m wide), on a total area of 235 km2 and has a population of around 33,000. It is located at the entrance to the picturesque bay of Boka Kotor, surrounded by terraces that descend from the high Orjen and with two hundred sunny days a year.
